You are pasionate about the creating stuff. You enjoy taking complex concepts and designing flows and features that simplify the experience and delight users. You believe in testing to prove your hypothesis. And you know when to use a pen & paper, low-fi wireframes or other to get your point across.

The Job

• Build features from scratch, including the conceptual work, sketching, and wireframing.
• Decide on interactions for elements on a page/in the software.
• Design solutions to problems discovered in user testing.
• Work directly with engineers to clarify details as they build your work.
• You should enjoy all tracks by DJ Shadow.

We are looking to expand our core product team with a Senior Java Developer/Architect that will contribute in the product design and development and take pride in the delivery of kick-a** products.

Profile

If you are ambitious, pragmatic, do-er, and passionate defender of good architecture and solid implementation, then you are our guy/gall. If you are agile, love to be part of a product team and enjoy advising customers on how to integrate with the product you help making, then you have to apply for this position.
As a senior developer you will put your hands on the newest Big Data technologies and research innovative design approaches as part of our core product team.

The Job

• Design and develop the core product
• Bring new versions to production
• Develop new features and related documentation while maintaining existing code
• Design and Develop test cases to tune the system under extreme conditions (performance and
  scalability)
• Share knowledge with the team
• Participate in customer meetings to advice regarding integration with our product
• Be part of the core team and contribute to roadmap discussions
• Safe guard product quality
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Relevant HBO/University education or experience
• Minimum 4 years Java experience
• Experience with NoSQL Databases, preferably MongoDB (MapReduce, Sharding)
• Experience with Cloud-based infrastructure, esp. AWS
• Expertise with Hadoop eco-system is a plus (examples: Flume, Zookeeper, Ganglia, etc)
• Experience with Web services (REST/SOAP)
• Obsession with performance and big data
• Passion for elegant technical design and good programming practices (TDD, CI)
• Energetic “self-starter” , have the will to take ownership, and be accountable for deliverables
• A true defender of quality and (light-weight) documentation of the designs
• Sense of humor is essential

We are in essence looking to expand our core product team with a Java Developer that will contribute in the product design and development and take pride in the delivery of kick-a** products.
